Provincial Assessor’s Report
This year was a relatively slow year in terms of traveling to various regions for assessment. The Area Supervisors are presently doing a great job of working their local officials through the leveling process and getting their people to Level 1 status. I am impressed with the system Halifax has adopted for assessment. They have formed a local committee and developed a schedule whereby all officials are getting assessed on a more regular basis. The feedback and assessments I have received from this initiative has been very good.
In regards to officials receiving a Level 11 certification we have had two successful candidates this year and another Jennifer Lloyd who achieved her first positive evaluation towards a Level 11 at the Division 1 Girl’s Provincial tournament. Darren Dahl and Jeff Starrett earned their Level 11 certification at the Division 1 Boy’s Provincial tournament. Darren and Jeff will receive their certification at the Spring Meeting.
I attended numerous games to see our senior people work this season and continue to be impressed with the commitment, professionalism and ability of the officials in our province. Many thanks for all the hard work that NSBO puts into officiating.
My final assignment was working as A/E at the CCAA National Men’s Tournament held at NSAC in March. The level of competition was outstanding and NSAC did a tremendous job hosting. Our local entries Mount Saint Vincent and NSAC Rams played well and demonstrated that ACAA Conference can compete.
Congratulations to the officials representing NSBO:
