AUS Commissioner’s Report

NSBO panel performance was very good overall this year.  The season was highlighted by many of our officials receiving gold medal games at Atlantic and National Championships.  Athletic directors and coaches were very positive in their comments regarding our commitment and professionalism.  This season I evaluated over 95% of the games, either live or on webcast and in most cases I provided instant feedback.  Observers also reported to me on a regular basis.  Our finances and expenses to the AUS were positively approved and were paid to us earlier this season.

I was very pleased that we addressed  the coaches’ concerns by calling the rough play and traveling more consistently this year.  We also did a better job at handling players’ and coaches’ conduct.  Expectations will be even higher next year.

For next season, I hope to add some new officials to the panel and I will re-examine individual’s placement in our tier program.  Also, I will be representing the AUS in getting a new long term agreement signed.
