Women’ College Commissioners Report
May 2006
John Fanning
I have been in this position for two seasons and I believe that we are growing leaps and bounds with the completion of the year. The season was very successful from my point of view and I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of those involved in making it such a success. The following is a status report on how we are progressing with the women’s AUS since last fall:
· AUS Women’s and Men’s Board under evaluation for 2007/08 season.
· September 2006 AUS Women exhibition and regular games assigned until Christmas ( done jointly with Men’s Commissioner) final assignments made as well.
· AUS Women’s Championships Assigned by assigner. NS had two participants, Paul Hanson and Mary-Alice Butts. Good job Paul and Mary-Alice.
· CIS Women’s Championships were assigned and NS was represented by Paul Hanson. Congratulations to Paul.
· Evaluations are in process with consultation with the Men’s Assigner as we worked as a team during this season.
· AUS Women’s assignment quota for female assignments at 27% was met.
I hope that we will have a very exciting and successful season next year. I am looking forward to seeing all of our board members in action . We have an excellent board of officials and it is my goals as well as the goal of the NSBO to develop young and up coming officials and use the knowledge and experience of our senior officials.
We are looking at various ways of developing our young officials and our female members as well. If any members have ideas on how we can better approach these goals please do not hesitate in contacting me. Have a great summer and I look forward to next year.
