Mechanics Review

-         Use a Strong whistle; solid sound, not a number of toots.  Call your  own area unless a game-saver

-         Lead official must hustle to baseline ready and be waiting to accept the play

-         Preventative officiating.

-         Signals- by the book, exact, efficient, proper sequence with correct methods

-         Be a Positive communicator- with partners, coaches, players, and minor officials

-         Time out positions

-         Injury process and positions- Referee handles any extended injury

-         Table administration, problems, controversy- Referee

-         5th Foul Positions- 2 person and 3 person (foul caller goes opposite, official with ball goes to spot where play will resume)

-         Penetration and “dish”- what are the responsibilities?  Trail stays with the play

-         Bounce pass when ball is out of bounds on all lines with the exception of offensive end line; when baseline official handles a sideline offensive throw in, it is a bounce pass from baseline to thrower in on sideline

-         Bird Dogging

-         Free throw responsibilities-   positions? Priorities?

-         Dead ball Hustle package

-         Getting the out of bounds call correct!

-         When official blows whistle as ball went out on her line and asks for help- proper sequence!

-         Out of bounds call made and off official wants to change the call- double toot on the whistle and the calling official makes the call

-         End of period communication- last 2 minutes, last shot, etc

-         (New) And as of this bulletin, we need a whistle on the buzzer at the end of each period- that whistle comes from Trail in 2 person and “opposite” in 3 person !
