This past year was a hectic one to say the least. It started with the election of a new area rep and for the first time an executive for our region. Our mandate was to recruit and train as many new officials as possible and to date we have ten new refs ranging in age from sixteen to twenty-five. The next task on the agenda was learning the new rules and mechanics . Our area was well represented at the Provincial clinic in Truro with nine of the fiveteen officials from our area attending. for those that couldn't attend and the new recruits we had Roger Cauldfield put another clinic on for our area that had an excellent turn out. I was given the O.K. by Roger to put on a clinic in Antigonish for the three new recruits , several coaches , and outher refs from Port Hawksbury . Our area is moving foward with this process of training and developing so we can supply the three division one schools in the area that play in the newly formed MAC League with a high standard of officiating. The year ended with the election of Fred Hampton as area rep at our AGM . Good luck to Fred and thanks to everyone who helped me out this past year .
