Vice President/Acting President Report

Spring 2011

On behalf of NSBO, I would like to thank executive members, especially Roger Caulfield, Reg Jewkes, Reg Caulfield and Paul Hanson, for the completion of extended duties in the absence of President Chris Ross who was on official leave.  As has been said many times, many hands make light work – much appreciated!

The 2010/2011basketball season was one that was very competitively played at all levels.  After 1000’s of games were officiated, very few discipline issues surfaced – we are appropriately  ‘taking care of business’ in most cases. 

NSBO members continue to respect their role in the ‘big picture’ of basketball and individuals bring professionalism that promotes the betterment of the game.    It is imperative that we continue in our efforts to be impartial judges of the actions that take place on the floor and continue to penalize conduct not becoming of the game.

NSBO continues to have a very good relationship with the clients that we serve.  Basketball is growing in our province and we must be persistent in the recruitment of new members.
