Annual Report South
Shore NSB0
The South Shore registered 27 members this past
fall. Darren Dahl held a three night refereeing clinic for 6 new officials.
Recruitment and retention of new officials
continues to be an issue in our area. Dave Winaut was elected our new area
assignor and did a great job assigning more games to our less experienced
officials. Especially our female officials. We intend to promote a buddy
system to enhance the advancement of our younger members.
Barry Crozier acted as our Area Evaluator and
several officials received evaluations with one member receiving his Level 1
status.
Roger Caulfield presented a well attended clinic
to our members in the fall on mechanics and rule interpretation.
Thanks to Roger and we hope to have him back in
2007.
Our officials did a great job controlling
the game on and off the court. Three spectators were ejected from games and
one coach was ejected. This coach received an additional suspension from the
NSSAF for verbal abuse of officials.
Two of our officials worked NSSAF Provincial
Tournaments. Jeff Nodding worked the final of the Div. 3 in Shelburne.
Darren Dahl worked a semi at the Div.1 boys . Both received positive
evaluations and Darren has reached the Level 2 status.
We had hoped to stage a end of the year Golf
day/BBQ on May 19 but the weather did not cooperate. We have rescheduled for
the early fall.
